I like boring things. |
Kiyoshi Awazu
Kiyoshi Awazu (1929-2009), Japanese graphic artist. I love him for his sometimes psychedelic designs and colours mixed with traditional Japanese influences. I’ve been absolutely crazy about Japanese Edo prints for as long as I can remember (or you knew, since my twelfth) and Japanese graphic artists such as Awazu, Tadanoori and Nagai are beautifully influenced by them, the strict lines, the specific shapes etc. but their works remains remarkably fresh and modern because of the colours and modern influences.

Kazumasa Nagai
Kazumasa Nagai is a Japanese graphic designer born in 1929. I think you can immediately tell why I love this man. Bright colours! Animals! Creative links and solutions! I’m also getting increasingly more interested in bold, simplistic shapes and this man’s work fits right in to this new-found obsession.
